Huawei Lands US$500mln GSM Contract from RComm

According to XFN-ASIA, Chinese telecom equipment supplier Huawei has been awarded a GSM contract worth US$500 million by Indian communications service provider RComm (Reliance Communications). As part of the agreement, Huawei will provide GSM equipment and services to RComm, helping the company to deploy GSM networks across India.

Currently RComm has been offering GSM services in eight Indian telecom circles, including West Bengal, Kolkata, North-East, Assam, Bihar, Orissa, Madhya Pradesh, and Himachal Pradesh. Having secured spectrum and approval for rolling out GSM services in 14 other telecom circles, RComm is aggressively expanding its GSM network to these new regions. This contract is expected to last for three years.
